I started practicing yoga in 2009 while I was living in Taiwan and heavily involved in rowing and rock climbing. At first, yoga was simply a way to stretch and balance out all the strengthening I was doing. Over time, though, the practice has become so much more than addressing physical needs, it has supported me in finding grounding and resilience through many changes in life. My foundational 300-hour training was with Suniti Dernovsek at The People’s Yoga, followed by an advanced 300-hour training with Sarahjoy Marsh. I’m now continuing with Sarahjoy in an 800-hour yoga therapy program that brings together yoga, neuroscience, psychology, and social justice. My teaching is deeply inspired by trauma-informed and somatic approaches, the wisdom of the nervous system, and the possibility of creating spaces where everyone feels included. In class, I focus on slowing down, moving with awareness, and inviting curiosity. I teach Gentle Flow, Hatha, Restorative, Yin, Chair, and Wheelchair Yoga, always with an emphasis on accessibility, nervous system regulation, embodiment, and self-trust. I love teaching yoga, and I love learning about people and their stories. I scan the room and teach to whoever is in front of me, preparing before each class to connect with myself and my energy so I can be grounded and fully present with my students.
